WE NEED YOU TO KNOW
Non standard bulldogs are more likely to have Health Problems, Temperament Issues and can often be different to standard bulldogs when it comes to Personality.
WHY ARE THEY CONSIDERED NON STANDARD?
The Bulldog Breed Standard can be read in full here: https://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/breed-standards/utility/bulldog/
The colours Black, Black and Tan, Dudley, Lilac, Blue and Chocolate are considered undesirable by the Kennel Club because when the sport of Bull Baiting was abolished in the late 1800s, it was clear that Black coats were the most aggressive dogs and best fighters. Subsquently these colours were dropped from breeding programmes to allow the breed to go from a viscious fighting dog to a calm pet.
All other non standard colours are a dilution of Black and are more prone to skin problems amongst other things.
Bulldog Rescue cannot guarantee that non standard dogs have not been crossed with another Bulldog Type at any point throughout it's lineage.
