SW Awards - Junior Sportsmanship

Application Form: Junior Sportsmanship

The USTA Southwest Section honors one junior competitive player annually for continued outstanding conduct at competitive events at the local, state,section and national levels.
PURPOSE: This award is given to a player who not only displays the finest qualities of sportsmanship during tournament play, but who also demonstrates exemplary conduct away from the court as well.

CRITERIA: Among the criteria to be considered when nominating:

1) Current USTA member
2) Current Junior Competitive player ranking
3) Displays respect for opponents, partners, teammates, tournament officials and tournament directors, coaches, chaperones, and spectators.
4) Outside extracurricular community/school activities and GPA (grade point average) can be used to distinguish a candidate
5) Previous nominees may be resubmitted, but new, deserving nominees are encouraged.
