1-A Rookie Rugby Club must be in progress in the USA Rugby database before applying. Club fees vary by state, contact your State Rugby Organization for help.
2-Name new clubs/leagues "Rookie Rugby [city or location]".
3-All coaches must be Level 100 certified.
4-All members must register with USA Rugby through the SRO. Please be sure the registration process is clear in the application below.
5-The league must target a new population for your organization (either a new age-grade level or gender not currently available for club members).
Process & Timelines:
Aug 31, for Fall leagues starting Sep-Oct
Oct 15, for Winter leagues starting Nov-Dec
Nov 15, for Winter leagues starting Jan-Feb
Jan 15, for Spring leagues starting Mar-May
Apr 15, for Summer leagues starting Jun-Aug
Applicants will be notified 2 weeks after the deadline of their acceptance (ie, by Oct 29 for Oct 15 applicants).
Applications are evaluated on a combination of:
Availability of equipment,
Adherence to grant requirements (above),
Potential for success.
There are no refunds for club fees because an applicant is not selected for the grant.
