April 8, 2017 Update
Jessica Iglehart spoke with Jacob Wiggins, Senior Planner for the City County Planning Department, on April 7, 2017. Mr. Wiggins is in charge of the case for Hyer Residentials annexation hearing; the hearing will be held either June 5, 2017 or June 19, 2017; he should know the scheduled date the middle of next week. Jessica Iglehart will follow up with Mr. Wiggins next week and post the date of the hearing.
It is a public hearing. We do not need to sign up prior to the hearing to speak; we only need to show up. The day of the hearing the Mayor will alot time for each speaker, until then we will not know how much time we have. We can have a powerpoint.
March 23, 2017 City Council Work Session
Jessica Iglehart represented Oakhaven expressing our concerns to the City Council members at City Hall.
City Council recommends us (residents of Oakhaven) to attend the annexation meeting that Hyer Residential will be submitting their plan to have their County property annexed to City property to address our concerns. The meeting is not scheduled yet.
(The annexation meeting is a full public hearing where Hyer Residential needs to be approved to have their county property annexed to city so they can use city sewer and water.)
Councilman Don Moffitt requested Jessica Iglehart's letter of concerns (that was distributed to all members of the City Council at the work session) to be included in the agenda at the annexation hearing.
March 4, 2017 Informal HOA Meeting
At the informal HOA meeting a Committee was formed to oppose the future 90 single home residental development proposing to use Martry Road as their entrance.
The farm land was sold at the end of Martry Road. Hyer Residential wants Martry Road to be their only entrance to their development. This is NOT about Herndon Trace.
Committee Members:
Jessica Iglehart, Liz Wilkinson, Robert Renquist, Salman Azhar, Nam Tonthat, Susanna Lai, and Karla Duckett.
The committee is working on petitions, talking to city council, putting together a script for letters, emails and/or calls, etc.
March 2017
Informal community meeting on 3-4-17 from 2:00-3:00 about future residental development being proposed for Martry Road extension. For more information about this meeting, please send us an email.
