Welcome to the National Menorah Essay Contest!
With the approach of Chanukah comes the much-awaited annual National Menorah Essay Contest, dedicated in memory of Rabbi Mendy Deren, of blessed memory, who cherished this program during his time working with us.
The essay should ideally be one page, or 150 words, and written on the topic of: “What Chanukah Means To Me”. The content of the essay should be relatable to the audience and have a Chanukah message such as hope, inspiration, triumph, or light.
One winner from each of the following groups will be chosen; Grades 3/4 and Grades 5/6.
The deadline for the essays to be received is Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

The winners will have the honor of reading their essays at the lighting ceremony of the National Menorah in front of millions of viewers via the media!
