• V'Ahavta Response Form

  • Crisis Support/Management -  Its mission is to respond to immediate and short-term crisis situations of our synagogue family. They may also assist with other TBS committees to offer crisis assistance to the greater Mahopac community.

Health & Wellness/Mental Health - A true caring community where all members are aware of each other’s expertise and can potentially be called upon to offer guidance and direction for whatever life throws our way.  Its mission is about strengthening resilience and enhancing temple members resource repertoire.

Supporting the Sick or Elderly - When you are older, either solo or with family responsibilities, and you are without a strong support network nearby, it’s a blessing to be surrounded by people who are caring and understand situations that could be overwhelming for just one person - or even one family - to face alone. The best way to have those people in your life?  Be one of them.  Seeking ways, you can help is a kindness you do, not only for them but also for yourself.   Its mission is to establish our Community as the "go to" resource when a wrench is thrown in to the routine of your daily life.

Helping Kids - The program will allow adults and kids to form friendships within the TBS Community and beyond, supporting K-12 aged children.  It fosters caring and supportive relationships.  It creates hope, laughter and trust.  Mentoring can also create an opportunity for growth in the areas of personal development, educational success, socialization and recreation with a focus on learning while having fun.

Cooking Together - Cooking together can mean several different things. We all have to cook, especially those with families or on budgets, and we all want to make it fast, healthy, and learn new recipes to get out of our own cooking ruts. Cooking together also can be a way to bond with friends, family, and teach children a valuable skill.  Lastly, cooking together can be cooking for those who need a meal and cannot provide one for themselves, due to illness, new baby, or other life events.

Deepening Relationships - Deepening Relationships within our community can be creating “Hello Chaverim” groups within the synagogue community and organize small scale, intimate events.  It could include outreach to support committees and activities happening at TBS and potentially outreach to the community at large.

Other - If there is something you are interested in that we haven’t identified yet, please let me know and I will be in contact with you to learn more.
