    2023 Richard & Elaine Williams LEGACY Scholarships - Visual Artists

    The Westlake Village Art Guild (WVAG) is pleased to join the Arts Council of the Conejo Valley in offering 2023 Richard & Elaine Williams LEGACY academic scholarships, enabled by a grant from the Thousand Oaks Arts Festival's residual funds and donations from the Westlake Village Art Guild, Thousand Oaks Art Association and others.

    The mission of this endeavour is to encourage, in a meaningful way, emerging young artists. 

    VISUAL ART SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE - Scholarships with award values from $500 to $2,000.

    Eligibility & Entry Requirements

    • Visual art students who are currently high school Seniors through college Sophomores.
    • Legal Residence - Greater Conejo Valley.
    • Currently registered or plan to register in fine art progams at a recognized institution of higher learning.
    • Images of artwork must be submitted with the application and must be original and created by the applicant.
    • 250 to 500 word "Statement" by the applicant relative to awards, activities, goals for the future. etc. This should include applicant's studies such as workshops, classes, private teachers, etc.
    • Agreement to liability release for participation.
    • While not a requirement, a letter of recommendation from a teacher/instructor, past or present, may help the evaluators differentiate the relative strength of applicants.

  • I (the "Applicant") certify that all arwork shown in images submitted are original and created by me.

    Furthermore, in the event of a misrepresentation on this application, I (the "Applicant") understand that I will be deemed ineligible and any and all awards received will be revoked.

    I (the "Applicant") understand and agree that I am entering voluntarily and at my own risk. I (the "Applicant") hereby release the Arts Council of the Conejo Valley and the Westlake Village Art Guild, their members, board of directors and judges from claims, liabilities, damages, theft or any loss that may arise from my participation. 

    In addition, I (the "Applicant") agree to permit reproduction of artwork for the purposes of publicity and documentation.

  • Letters of Recommendation are optional and may be sent by the Teacher as an attachment to an E-Mail to craignmorton@sbcglobal.net OR uploading an electronic file/image of the document below.

    Alternatively, letters of recommendation can be sent to Craig N. Morton, LEGACY SCHOLORSHIP Committee, 5560 Bufffwood Place, Agoura Hills, CA 91301.
