The CITRIS Tech for Social Good Program offers a competitive one-year fellowship to graduate and undergraduate students to encourage collaborative research and development of technology for social good. Tech for Social Good is open to all graduate and undergraduate students from all majors (including, arts, humanities, bio-sciences, social sciences, and engineering), and we are seeking a diverse mix of projects – not just tech development projects, but also ones focused on better understanding the role technology plays in relation to social good.
To achieve its mission, Tech for Social Good graduate fellows are expected to engage up to two (2) Tech for Social Good undergraduate fellows in hands-on research, including engagement in reading groups, lab meetings, and conferences, as appropriate.
To support their collaborative research, Tech for Social Good graduate fellows will receive $2,000, and Tech for Social Good undergraduate fellows will receive $500.
In addition to working on their projects, Tech for Social Good fellows will be expected to participate in biweekly meetings with the Tech for Social Good co-directors to share progress and participate in hands-on workshops to advance their research and mentorship skills.
