  • Becoming Spirit-Filled is the third step on the path of obedience to God’s call to each of us. Acts 2:38 tells us to “Repent, be baptized and receive the Holy Spirit”

  • What will the Holy Spirit do for you according to the following verses?

  • There are five places in the book of Acts where people are baptized in the Holy Spirit. Read Acts chapters 2,8,9,10, and 19 and answer the following questions as yes or no.

  • Were they Christians in:

  • Did they receive the Holy Spirit in:

  • Does it say they spoke in tongues in:

  • Notice that all the people who were baptized in the Holy Spirit were born again, all who asked received and, in three of five places, it says directly that they spoke in tongues. We know that Paul (Acts 9) also spoke in tongues because he proclaimed it in 1 Corinthians 14:18.

Biblical examples make it clear that we should encourage every believer to receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit just as those people in the Bible times did.

  • Read the following scriptures and fill in the blanks.

  • The Church’s need for the Holy Spirit is obvious. His fruit, His gifts and His power in your life are available now. You may also pray in the Spirit which will enable you to:

    · Speak to God more clearly

    · Be edified (built up)

    · Reveal mysteries

    · Intercede better

    · Receive strength

    · Pray warfare prayers more efficiently

Jesus said, “Ask and you shall receive.”
