Thank you for your interest in the upcoming exhibition of work by women turners, Turnabout - Women at the Lathe.
We are very excited about bringing together an exhibition of the excellent work being done by women turners today. The show will be a blended invitational and juried exhibition, celebrating both known and new voices in our field.
The exhibition will premiere at the Appalachian Center for Craft, in Smithville, Tennessee, where it will run from January 15, 2018 – March 12, 2018 and will then travel to the AAW Gallery in St. Paul for the summer of 2018; other venues are being explored.
The Center is part of the School of Art, Craft & Design at Tennessee Tech University, which has an extensive crafts program. It is the perfect environment for reaching out to the next generation of makers.
The online application period for Turnabout is October 1 to November 15, 2017. The application fee is $25 for up to three submissions. All applicants will be notified by December 1st. Because of budget constraints for shipping, a limited number of larger pieces will be accepted.
The Bold Print:
Work may be for sale, but does not need to be.
The artist/gallery split is 55/45 and will be paid by the venue where the piece is sold.
Inbound shipping is the responsibility of the artist. Return shipping will be covered.
Once received at the Appalachian Center for Craft, all work will be covered by insurance. Inbound insurance is the responsibility of the artist.
