NOT MY REVOLUTION
Written and Performed by Elizabeth Huffman
Directed by Laurie Thomas
May 18th - 28th
The Cell Theatre, 700 1st St. NW, Downtown Albuquerque
To be in the wrong place at the wrong time...to be a woman at the wrong time in the wrong place...NOT MY REVOLUTION takes you on a journey of the blessed, the power-hungry, the world of the displaced, the intimate territory of the refugee. This one-woman play juxtaposes the lives of a wealthy bon-vivant Syrian woman inadvertently swept up by the Arab uprising and a wealthy Austrian queen embroiled in the French Revolution. An unlikely yet brilliant pairing of stories, this timely piece challenges female strength in the face of political and personal violence.
