The focus of this technique is based on experimental ways of applying various materials onto a cardboard plate.
Interesting textures can be found in materials such as: lace, leaves, tissue paper, impasto mediums, gesso, threads and fabrics. These are adhered to cardboard and sealed. The plates are inked, rolled with colour and printed on the etching press. Collagraph plates for this process are all non - toxic and can be produced in the safety of the home studio.
VISCOSITY PRINTING will also be explored. A method where oil is mixed with coloured inks that resist each other, creating multilayered effects of colour on the collagraph plate. Up to 6 colours can be applied onto the plate with only one passage through the press resulting in a stunning print portfolio.
This workshop is suitable for all skill levels.
