Hello. My name is Alan H. Jordan. thanks for taking a little time to learn about me.
I am an active member of the Society of Childrens' Bookwriters and Illustrators and the 12x12 Challenge. That means that I am committed to write 12 picture books in one year. (I recently had a granddaughter, and that has inspired me to write many picture books for her to enjoy.) Achieving this goal means starting about 75 manuscripts, throwing some away and diligently working to polish other ones. It can easily take six months to "polish" a manuscript to the point where I feel comfortable submitting it to a publisher.

I received a grant from the Nevada Arts Council to write my self-published The Monster on Top of the Bed, which won a Five-Star Readers Favorite Award.
My publication credits include multiple poems in Mobius, the Poetry Magazine, six books on telecommunications and integrity-based business-to-business telephone sales and multiple one-act plays produced in the Philadelphia area. I currently live in the Reno-Tahoe area and volunteer for the Food Bank. I recently signed up to help refugees learn English, and I enjoy hiking, biking and bird watching on the beautiful Lake Tahoe Rim Trail.
I currently live in the Reno-Tahoe area and volunteer for the Northern Nevada Food Bank. I recently signed up to help refugees learn English, and I enjoy hiking, biking, traveling, bird watching and photography, particularly on the beautiful Lake Tahoe Rim Trail.
I'm what's known as a hybrid author. About 50% of my writing has been published by publishers, and about 50% have self-published.
I also write books that are used to document computer systems. These books are published only within a company or government organization.
