High school students participating in Edinboro University’s Digital Media Academy will have the
opportunity to interact with regional media professionals who work in newspapers, television, radio and other media. The three-day academic summer camp is scheduled June 14-16, 2020, and is sponsored by Lilly Broadcasting and the Erie Times-News.
Building on the success of the Communication, Journalism and Media Department’s annual High School Journalism Day, the summer camp will offer students a more in-depth and intensive experience, providing the opportunity to work in well-equipped campus media facilities and develop skills in digital editing, studio production, newswriting and other areas.
The experience will give high school students an awareness of career opportunities in all aspects of the media industry, including production, sales, promotion and management. The Academy is open to all students entering grades 10, 11 and 12. Participants will work with EU journalism faculty members with years of professional experience, and key student leaders currently involved in EU campus media.
Dateline: applications due by May 24, 2020.
