  • Note: This form must be filled out by your teacher advisor.

    Students are not to submit their own films.

  • What is the file name for your film?

    Please give the digital file you are submitting a unique name based on the Production Title and also incorporate your school's name.

     

    Example

    Production Title: The Last straw

    School Name: Allan A. Martin

    Therefore the File name should be Thelaststraw-allanamartin.mov

     FILM SELECTION

    PSFF will consider all submissions that meet the criteria listed in this form. Films will be selected for the festival on the basis of proficiency in content/creativity, camera work/editing and audio.

    Due to the large number of submissions, not all films that meet the requirements will be shown at the festival.

  • RELEASES

    All submissions are due by March 3rd, 2017 at 4:00 PM EST

    Each student needs to complete a media release form at http://www.peelstudentfilmfestival.com/elementary-schools/calls-for-submission.html or Media Release form

    Note: Any student participating in the production of the film, in any capacity, must have a signed media release form.

    In order to be eligible for the PSFF, all parties involved in making the film must agree to its submission.

    Films and soundtracks which depict graphic or gratuitous violence, verbal abuse or content that attacks or demeans a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity are not acceptable for PSFF and will not be considered for the showcase. The teacher advisor must approve any foreign language in the film or soundtrack. An English translation/transcript may be requested.

    Concerning Copyright: Entrants are encouraged to create productions that consist entirely of original material, including music, graphics, visuals, etc., however, we understand that this may not always be feasible in a school environment; therefore, please endeavour to credit all copyright material used in all projects submitted.

    Please use a lossless file format (Ex. Apple Pro Res 422 or equivalent)

    Resolution: 1080P (1920x1080) or 720P (1280x720)

    Bitrate: 10,000-20,000

    Framerate: 24 (23.97) or 30 (29.97)FPS

    Audio Encouding Format

    Audio should be balanced, without audio distortion or peaking:

    Codec: ACC-LC (Advanced Audio Codec)

    Data rate: 320kbit/s

    Sample rate: 48kHz

    Please submit files in MOV or MP4 format (Quick Time format). All videos must be original works created by the student(s) and should be no longer than 4 minutes in length.
