    Junior Ratings Clinic

This clinic is for all players who plan to play on teams from Franklin and Anderson counties, and a few other surrounding areas that may join us.  This DOES NOT include players who play on teams in Georgetown, Versailles, and Lexington and the their teams join our leagues.  Those players will be rated by their local leagues.

Starting this year, all junior players that play in USTA leagues and are over 10 years old will recieve a rating, much like adults do.  These range from 1.0 (just starting to play tennis) to 7.0 (world-class player).  At the clinic, players will be asked to demonstrate a variety of skills and judges (made up of local USTA adult players and instructors) will suggest a rating for each player based on their performance.  When joining a team, players or team mangers will have to 'self rate' each player, using the rating given at this clinic.  The computer system will automatically adjust a players rating after a player has played a set number of matches that have been recorded in Tennislink, which will be based on their scores, opponents, and wins/losses.  This allows for players to be paired with others of ratings close to their own for more competive and fun mathces.

For descriptions of the ratings, go to http://assets.usta.com/assets/638/15/JTT_NTRP_guidelines.pdf .
