  • Disclaimer: Meet Directors will not advertise, produce merchandise, receive labels/drug testing kits, or have the event posted on the USA Powerlifting event calendar until the meet has been sanctioned. Sanction # must be on all advertisements, including entry form.

    The meet sanction will automatically VOID if the conditions below are not met.

  • REFEREE REQUIREMENT: USA Powerlifting requires that all officials be rated referees. For American Record purposes, there must be three National and/or International level referees on the platform. (All Referees Must be Current USA Powelifting Members.) You are requested to provide the names and ratings of the referees committed to your meet.

  • DRUG TESTING OFFICERS: Provide the name(s) of the designated Drug Testing Officer(s) committed to your meet below (must be current USA Powerlifting Members):

  • Meet Directors Must Complete the Following Tasks Prior to the Start of the Meet

    • THREE [3] weeks prior to the meet, fill out the following Meet Packet on-line form to request an accurate count of Membership Forms, Drug Test Kits, Release Forms & Current Membership List: https://form.jotform.com/nationalofficeusapl/meet-packet
    • USA Powerlifting Intellectual Property Form and Artwork Approved prior to use: www.usapowerlifting.com/logo-usage-policy/ This is to be used for any and all forms of artwork, including, but not limited to meet tshirts, banners, posters, medals, etc for your event. Your event name, including USA Powerlifting must be included on all items produced for the event, including social media posts and medals.

    Registration: All athletes participating in the event MUST be registered and show a current USA Powerlifting membership card, apply for membership or present proof of purchase before being processed to the weigh-in and/or drug testing areas. Only USA Powerlifting registered clubs may compete as Teams. (Registered clubs can be found here: http://www.usapowerlifting.com/clubs/)

    Drug Testing: USA Powerlifting recognizes urine and blood forms of testing. You are required to drug test a minimum of 10% of the competitors participating in their meet. This is a literal figure, and cannot be rounded down. For example, with 41 lifters competing, 5 drug tests must be done. Urinalysis testing is coordinated through the National Office. All Drug Test Kits (forms, collection bottles, bags, shipping box and shipping label) are supplied by the National Office.

    Promotional Mailings: USA Powerlifting will provide email blasts for the meet as requested by the Meet Director. Contact the National Office with State(s) and Year(s) desired from our membership database, along with the verbiage for the body of the email and link to the entry form for your event.

    Release of Claims and Liability Form: All Lifters, and Meet Participants, including Loaders, Spotters, Platform Workers, and Referees must complete the form prior to weigh-in or the commencement of the meet, whichever is applicable. https://www.jotform.com/usapowerlifting/waiver

    Weigh-ins: Lifters must be weighed in during the regulation weigh-in period, not more than 2-hours before lifting starts.

  • Meet Directors Must Complete the Following Tasks After the Completion of this meet.

  • Immediately following the meet: Meet Directors must send Redwood Toxicology Laboratory an A and B specimen sample for each of the competitors tested.

    • Follow the Drug Testing Procedures in the handouts provided with the director’s kit.
    • Specimens A and B for each competitor MUST be sealed together in a white baggie.
    • Sealed white baggies MUST be placed in the large baggie. Seal the large baggie.
    • The large baggie is sealed and placed inside of the prepaid FedEx pack.
    • Chain of Custody copy 2 MUST be placed inside the FedEx pack. DO NOT place the paperwork in the baggies with specimens.
    • Call FedEx at 1-800-463-3339 for pickup or drop off with FedEx.

    Postmarked within 10-days of this meet: Meet Directors must send the following items to the USA Powerlifting National Office:

    • Athlete Notification of Doping Control Form, white copy
    • Chain of Custody Form, National Office Copy - copy 1
    • Membership Applications, white copy
      • Membership Card Sales List Form, white copy
      • Release of Claim and Liability Form for all Lifters and Participants, white copy
      • Money – Drug testing, $80.00 per test ($225 per WADA test)
      • Money – Membership (DO NOT send cash, consolidate to one check, money order or pay by credit card)

    Complete the below procedures only if records were set (only for State or Regional meets):

    • American Record Application Form
    • A copy of the lifters Birth Certificate/Government Issued ID, if applicable
    • A copy of the scale certification and date (if sending multiple records only one copy is needed)
    • A copy of the USAPL Meet Sanction (if sending multiple records only one copy is needed)

    • Upload Results within 10-days of this meet: https://secure.jotformpro.com/nationalofficeusapl/MeetResults (Only NextLifter Excel Results, LiftingCast or Results Template only)
  • Meet Reimbursement

  • Meet reimbursement via ACH will be made providing the meet director complies with ALL the above schedule and all USA Powerlifting rules and regulations. The responsibility to meet the required schedule is yours. The reimbursement will be made out to the Meet Director unless otherwise indicated here below.

  • ACH's for reimbursements will be performed on Thursday of each week and will appear in your account in 2-3 business days.

  • Payment

    • Cost is $75 (Local) or $150 (Regional) per meet sanction application. See list for National Meet prices. Payment must be made at the time the completed application is submitted.
    • Completed Local sanction applications received at the USA Powerlifting National Office less than 30 days prior to the meet date may be rejected, or approved & assessed a 200% penalty in the meet sanction fee.
    • Completed National sanction applications received at the USA Powerlifting National Office greater than 30 days after approval at the NGB date may be rejected, or approved & assessed a 200% penalty in the meet sanction fee.



  • Certification

  • Organization: I hereby bind myself and the organization which I represent, to see that all of the requirements and regulations as set forth by the USA Powerlifting By-Laws and the Rulebook are respected and fulfilled.

  • Meet Director: I personally agree, as a condition for obtaining this sanction that the person or organization holding the said meet will abide by all of the rules and regulations of USA Powerlifting and all terms and conditions of the sanction. I agree that if the prizes awarded are not as advertised, I will personally be responsible for the cost of the prizes as advertised on the Meet Entry Form. I understand and agree that I will be personally responsible for all USA Powerlifting monies collected for membership registrations and drug testing; and I will forward these funds to the National Office postmarked within 10 days following the meet.

  • State Chair: I have reviewed the application for this USA Powerlifting meet, discussed same with the meet director(s) and/or organization representative and believe all parties will fulfill the USA Powerlifting objectives. By my signature below I recommend approval of the requested meet and will support this meet with my office.
