  • BONAPARTE'S RETREAT VOLUNTEER CODE OF CONDUCT

  • I understand that the goal of the volunteer program at Bonaparte’s Retreat is to provide supplemental care and enrichment for the lives of shelter animals, to support the organization's rescue activities, and to engage and educate the public about the mission of Bonaparte’s Retreat. As a volunteer, my actions and attitudes should always further these goals.

I understand that I can and should seek guidance from a Bonaparte’s Retreat employee if I am ever unclear about my volunteer duties or about the mission or practices of Bonaparte’s Retreat.

I agree to conduct myself in an appropriate and professional manner while volunteering for Bonaparte’s Retreat, following and supporting its programs, policies, and practices.

I agree to demonstrate professional interactions with Bonaparte’s Retreat staff, patrons, donors, other volunteers, and members of the public.

I agree to conduct myself in a manner consistent with humane treatment of Bonaparte’s Retreat’s animals.

I understand that I am responsible for reviewing all materials given to me at orientations, training sessions, or related settings. If I have questions or do not understand any materials or any part of a session or orientation, I agree to ask and seek guidance from the Bonaparte’s Retreat staff.

I agree to accept supervision, direction, and support from the Bonaparte’s Retreat staff and understand that they will provide me with feedback to help me perform my volunteer duties most effectively and safely and in the best interests of the animals for whom I volunteer.

I understand that failing to observe the above agreements could result in my dismissal from the volunteer program, and that I can be removed at any time at the discretion of the Bonaparte’s Retreat staff.
