What is SnipSell®?
SnipSell is a worldwide publishing and distribution service for musicians, producers and talented people that create sounds or videos. We focus on short sounds and effects. Most of them are used as ringtone, text tone or alarm clock on smartphones like the Apple iPhone®.

What happens when I hit the submit button?
Your sound will then be reviewed by our team for a quick format and content checkup. When everything is ok we send it to the iTunes Ringtone store. If not we will contact you to adjust your upload.

Where do my sounds sell?
On the iTunes Store as ringtones. We distribute your sounds to the world's most attractive ringtone platform iTunes. This store reaches millions of iOS devices like iPhone, iPod or iPad that are hungry for new sounds.

What sounds do you recommend?
Basically any sound is appropriate to be a ringtone. Beeps, Swooshes, Vocals, Sound Effects - yes, even burps or comedy stuff. The more it can be used as a ringtone, alert or alarm clock sound the better it will sell. You will notice that soon. Start easy, it should be fun.

How much do I get paid for my sounds?
You get 80% of what iTunes pays out. Currently that is $.80 per download. When choosing the payment plan of no charge you receive the percentage that is stated.

What happens to my rights of my recording?
That's very simple. When doing the Big deal you keep all rights. YOU decide year by year if you want to continue distributing your sound. Cancel whenever you want. When being accepted for the free deal WE decide year by year if we continue to distribute your ringtone. It'll always be Fair Play.

How do I receive my royalties / payments?
With Paypal. Please register if you don't have an account yet. All the royalty money we collect for you will be sent to your Paypal account on a monthly basis (week 1-2 of a new month). Please note that your first payment will be made 2 months after first release date due to iTunes accounting. Get surprised!

Can I see trends data in advance?
Sure! We are currently sending out trends data on a 2-weekly basis to your email address (week 1 & 3 of a month). This is trend data and not sales data so it might differ to the final figures due to currency rates or customer cancellations. But it will give you a great preview whether your sound is hot or not. If you have not received a report yet please write us.

Do you have any tips or guidelines for my uploads?
