    Welcome to the registration page for the Global Congress on Public Interest Intellectual Property. For more information and the agenda, see 2012 Global Congress overview.

    Use this form to apply to attend the Global Congress, as well as to propose to host a panel, make a presentation or request travel assistance.

    After you initially register, you may update the form (e.g. to attach a paper, edit an abstract, fill out a panel suggestion) Please contact globalcongress2012@gmail.com with questions or to request we re-send the editing link to you.

    Please attach a CV and/or a description of your work in international intellectual property.

    Deadlines:

    August 1:  

    Priority Deadline for applications - applicants will be considered on a rolling basis, with applications made by August 1 given first consideration for funding and presentation at the Global Congress.

    Applications to host a workshop are also requested by August 1 for planning purposes, but are accepted through September 1.

    September 1:  

    Final Deadline for applications to recieve travel assistance - applications after September 1 to receive travel assistance will be considered only under exceptional circumstances.

    Final Deadline for applications to present or share a paper.

    November 1:  

    Final Deadline for Application to Attend.

  • Because the primary purpose of the Congress is to promote deliberation and action planning, the opportunities for formal presentation will be somewhat limited. We will, however, have spaces for keynote presentations or panel discussions for each session (see below). In addition, as in the inaugural year, the Congress will host small works-in-progress workshops to allow participants to share their own work and solicit feedback from peers.

    All requests to present are considered on a rolling basis; early applications are encouraged. Please attach a draft of the paper or presentation if and when you have one.

    Applications can be updated to revise the abstract or add a paper at a later date using the link you will receive by email. 

    Applicants who are proposing to host a workshop are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, no later than August 1, for the purpose of agenda and space planning.

  • Limited travel scholarships are available with preferences for applicants who: lack sufficient institutional funding to otherwise participate; are from developing countries; or raise contributing funds from other sources. 

    All meals will be provided at the conference venues. Funding is not available for incidental expenses or ground transportation, which are expected to be provided by participants or their host institutions absent exceptional circumstances.
