THE NAF WBL INSTITUTE will bring together selected regional teams, NAF network and partner organization content experts, and NAF staff facilitators to create comprehensive implementation plans for developing regional work-based learning systems that foster student college and career ready skill development. During the Institute, regional teams will be guided through a process that provides facilitated team time and the opportunity to consult with practitioners (content experts) from the NAF network who are exceptionally good at developing essential components of WBL systems, delivering specific WBL activities at scale, or engaging employers. This institute is particularly designed for regional teams that have demonstrated a commitment to working together to build and grow a comprehensive work-based learning system.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Teams are made up of 4 - 9 members of a regional leadership team, which may include: intermediary organization leaders, academy or pathway directors, employer partners/Advisory Board Members, school district administrators, post-secondary and workforce development leaders, and others responsible for building WBL opportunities in their region.
HOW TO APPLY: Up to twelve teams will be selected to participate in the December 2015 WBL Institute. Teams will be selected based on the following criteria:
Completed application package due October 9th
Regional WBL Vision Statement
Roster with commitment of each person to attend the full Institute
Description of the region’s WBL strengths and needs
Selected teams will be announced by October 14th. Teams will be required to complete a self-assessment and participate in a pre-Institute call with NAF WBL leadership, prior to the institute.
