    Keynote Bios

Eric Hipple - He is not a psychiatrist or a mental health clinician, so when he travels to area schools to speak to students about suicide prevention, his audience often wonders why a retired Detroit Lions quarterback cares about it in the first place. Eric Hipple’s credibility comes from personal experience after losing his son to suicide in 2000, something he shares with others every day to prevent it from happening to them.

Phil Rodgers - Dr. Rodgers is Vice-President of Design, Development and Evaluation for LivingWorks Education, where he manages the development of new programs and the evaluation of existing programs. Prior to joining LivingWorks, Dr. Rodgers spent eleven years as an Evaluation Scientist for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. During his time with the Foundation, Dr. Rodgers developed and managed the Best Practices Registry for Suicide Prevention in collaboration with the Suicide Prevention Resource Center.
