    2) Eligibility: This juried exhibition is open to all members of the Visual Arts Alliance aged 18 and over and is produced by volunteers of the Visual Arts Alliance.

    3) Juror: Gus Kopriva is a curator and owner of the Kopriva Collection of over 1,800 works. His expertise lies in the areas of German Expressionism, French Symbolism, American WPA and Contemporary Art. He purchases and sells art as the Owner of Redbud Gallery since 1999, curating over 150 exhibitions. Kopriva has planned, organized and implemented major Texas exhibitions in over eight foreign venues over the last 10 years. He serves on the Holocaust Museum Houston Exhibition Committee and as a board member of the Houston Arts Foundation. He previously served on the Municipal Arts Commission, appointed by Mayor Bill White. He was born of French / German parents in Germany after World War II.

    Kopriva, an engineeer, also works as an executive consultatn in several techical fields. He was, until recently, accountable for the project management, capital project execution, planning/scheduling, cost management/estimating deliverables, including training for a major $1 billion plus capital program on a global basis.

    4) Notifications:

    6) Fees and Entry Form:For early-bird entries (before the August 1 deadline), the entry fee is $40 for 1-4 entries. After the early-bird deadline (before the final August 14 deadline). the entry fee is $50 for 1-4 entries.

  • 7)    Promotional CD:

    All submitted artwork will be placed on a custom-designed CD and hand-delivered to over 50 Houston-area galleries and art consultants.

    8)    Specifications:

    See VAA Exhibitions Requirements and Guidelines for Specifications for this exhibition.

    Artwork may be created with any 2D or 3D media with the exception of film, video or kinetic works. The maximum dimension for two dimensional work in any direction, including frame, is 60".  This is a general public venue; therefore, subject matter is restricted.

    9)    Submission Guidelines:

    THIS FORM MUST BE COMPLETED ONLINE AND SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN MIDNIGHT, FRIDAY, AUGUST 14, 2015.  Work not entered by the deadline will not be eligible for consideration. NO SUBSTITUTIONS PERMITTED. See VAA Exhibitions Requirements and Guidelines for more.

    10)    Delivery of Accepted Works:

    Hand deliver works to 1600 Smith Street (Concourse Level) on September 20, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM. All selected works must remain on view until the close of the exhibit - no exceptions. VAA reserves the right to reject any work that is misrepresented or unsuitably presented. Works requiring special hanging or installation must be done by the artist.

    11)     Pick-Up Artwork:

    Artists must pick up their work on November 22, 2015 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Work not claimed at that time will become the property of VAA.

    12)  Sales:

    VAA does not require a commission on sales during the exhibition. All sales are handled between the artist and the buyer.

    13) Agreement:

    EVERY PRECAUTION WILL BE TAKEN IN HANDLING ALL ARTWORK. HOWEVER, NEITHER BROOKFIELD NOR VAA CAN ASSUME ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGE, LOSS, OR THEFT DURING THE EXHIBITION, OR AS A RESULT OF SHIPMENT.  ARTISTS MAY BE REQUIRED TO SIGN AND SUBMIT A SEPARATE INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT BEFORE DELIVERING THEIR WORK. VAA reserves the right to photograph work or use submitted images for publicity purposes. Entering this competition will constitute agreement with all conditions set forth within this prospectus.   • Promo CD:

    VAA produces a promotional CD for this exhibit which contains all submitted artworks. These CD's are available for $10 if you pick it up or $15 if you want it mailed. Opportunities for pick up are:

         September 2 (Wednesday) at The Printing Museum (1324 Clay St 77019), 6-8PM

         September 20 (Sunday) at 1600 Smith St. 9-10am

         September 21 (Monday) at Art Supply on Main (2711 Main St 77002), 6-8pm

         September 23 (Wednesday) at the reception

    If your CD isn't picked up at one of those times, you will surrender your payment and VAA will keep the CD.
