1. Times of meetings between the student and the postgraduate coach must be mutually agreed (preferably in writing) and respected.
2. The meeting venue for all academic assistance offered by the coach must be at Level 13, University of the Western Cape Library.
3. The coach will only wait for thirty (30) minutes for student arrival for each appointment.
4. All communication between the coach and student must be via official UWC student email accounts. Strictly no WhatsApp or telephonic contact is allowed.
5. Only a UWC registered Masters or Doctoral student may be assisted by a coach.
6. The academic assistance offered by the coach does not in any form override any decision of the student’s supervisor.
7. The modus operandi of the coach does not include the writing of assignments, proof-reading, editing or writing for the student.
8. It is the responsibility of the student to present factual information and data to the coach timeously.
9. The student must at all times conduct themselves ethically and in a professional manner.
10. Any evidence of non-compliance, poor performance or unruly behaviour by the coach for such academic assistance should be notified as soon as possible to the appropriate authority.
11. The student must ensure that an up-to-date record and details of assistance offered by the coach are available and provided upon request by RDPS.
12. It is mandatory for the student to independently complete and submit an online evaluation after each session with the coach. Failure to do so will result in the student not being able to book another session with the coach.
13. RDPS may upon request evaluate or assess with the coach the performance of the student in terms of progress made with the coach. This means that RDPS is entitled to verify with the student information which they have submitted.
14. Upon a thorough analysis of student performance, the coach may refer the student to a workshop or workshops, or to training offered by RDPS.
15. The student may express dissatisfaction with regard to academic assistance offered by the coach. This must be done by using the appropriate channel to notify the Academic Coordinator.
