Last year (June 18) we saw a drop in session hosted by the Environment Agency at the Rochford Hotel, with regard to a permmission application received from London Southend Airport to allow 360 cubic meters of trade effluent into both the Prittle & Eastwood brook.(approx 34 million + gallons per annum)
The Environment Agency tell us of the enormous amount of public interest on this particular application. We need to show that this support is still there. At present the River Roach has a Prohibition Order due to extremly high E-coli baterial readings. The River Roach has protection as a place of special scientific interest. Something that the Airport do not recognise.
We need to keep our waterways free of any pollution. FACT
