This form is to be used to notify the Employee Service Centre of all new appointments including casual and supply workers.
The start date should be considered in line with the Payroll Deadlines to avoid missed or incorrect salary payments.
Maintained Schools - please refer to the Equated Weeks Table for contractual paid weeks per year according to job role and years of service.
Forms submitted after the HR processing deadline will be retrospectively processed the following month.
Selecting No will result in the employee's current assignment ceasing and being replaced with this appointment from the effective date on this form
If the school will issue its own paperwork, please forward a copy to the Employee Service Centre as soon as possible

! In line with NCC Pay Policy, all new appointees will be placed on the bottom Spinal Column Point (SCP) of their grade. Payment of a higher SCP is subject to approval by the school's board of Governors.
Where there is a genuine need to act as soon as practicable, EMSS can arrange for emergency payments to be made if this form is submitted after the HR Processing Deadline. It should be recognised that these would be exceptional and not routine.
The criteria for making an emergency payment are as follows:• The member of staff would suffer financial hardship without the payment• The amount due to the employee is no less than £50 net
While we make every effort to process requests promptly, we cannot guarantee that emergency payments will be made on an employee's normal payday.
- You will receive an email to confirm submission of this form which you should keep for reference. If you have completed the Head Teacher email field, they will also get a copy of this form for review
- Where paperwork is to be issued by the Employee Service Centre, the contract of employment or casual agreement will be sent to the school securely via AnyComms+. A copy should then be issued to the new starter by the school
- If applicable, pre-employment checks should be carried out and evidence of these maintained by the school
- Medical Questionnaires for maintained schools should be sent to the Employee Wellbeing team at ew.admin@nottinghamcity.gov.uk
