Professional Expectations
To ensure the development of a quality and accountable tutoring program, the University would like both the tutor and the tutee to consider the following professional expectations on the part of each participant in this educational relationship:
The professional expectations of the tutor are:
- Be on time for all tutoring sessions.
- Pre-plan the structure of the tutoring session.
- Come to all tutoring sessions prepared and ready to teach and/or facilitate at the time the session is scheduled to begin.
- Show respect for the tutees' time by providing 24-hour notice of cancellation of a session to the tutees.
- Complete and submit Paylocity timesheets by the designated deadlines.
- Represent the University and its mission statement in a professional manner, as a University employee.
- Submit to the Learning Skills Specialist Weekly Tutoring Reports of all tutoring sessions with all tutees, as well as evaluations of tutoring activities when requested.
The professional expectations of the tutee are:
- Be on time for all tutoring sessions.
- Follow the suggestions provided by the tutor.
- Come to all tutoring sessions with organized ideas of where you need assistance, and ready to learn at the time the session is scheduled to begin.
- Show respect for the tutor’s time and effort in preparing for sessions by providing 24-hour notice of cancellation of a session to the tutor.
- Submit to the Learning Skills Specialist evaluations of tutors when requested.
I have read the above guidelines for participating in the PNWU Tutoring Program and agree to the terms and precepts that are outlined.
