    2. Relevant files, links, and references
    3. Keywords (choose from a list)
    4. Brief abstract (2-4 sentences)
    5. Connections to the Common Core State Standards for Mathematical Practice (the full text of the standards is linked)

Estimated time to complete: 5 minutes, if you have your materials on hand

OPTIONAL: After submitting the form, you can choose to provide more information about connections to the Common Core content standards. This will take an additional 10-15 minutes.

Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Keywords (Part 3 of 5)

For each category of keywords, please limit your selections to the most salient aspects of your session.

  • Abstract (Part 4 of 5)

Please provide a brief description of the session. Two to four sentences is usually sufficient. A sample abstract is provided below.

    Sample Abstract:

A tiling is a covering of the plane by non-overlapping figures.  Tilings can be used to teach many concepts related to regular polygons and symmetry. This session covers basic ideas behind regular and semi-regular tilings, then goes on to explore the symmetries in tilings by modifying regular tilings to produce an Escher-like tiling.

  • Mathematical Practices (Part 5 of 5)

Please select any of the following eight mathematical practices from the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics that are especially important in your session. For the full text of the mathematical practice standards, please see http://www.illustrativemathematics.org/MP1
