HyperVision is a youth art exhibition and competition created and run by the Hyper Team in the City of Swan. Each year we invite artists to submit work across photography, digital media, sculpture, traditional media and fashion/jewellery categories for a chance to win amazing prizes and be exhibited in our pop-up gallery at Midland Gate Shopping Centre.
HyperVision 20/20 asks young people to explore the last 20 years and the coming 20 years.
Were you alive in 1994? Were your parents plaid deep in their grunge phase? We lost Kurt Cobain and we gained Justin Beiber. Friends, E.R., The Lion King and Pulp Fiction premiered.
Where will you be in 2034? Will life resemble WALL-E or The Matrix? Will we still be using Twitter? Will we all hail a robot overlord? Will things pretty much be the same?
Finalist artwork will be exhibited at Midland Gate Shopping Centre for three weeks from 7 July to 27 July and will be on display to over 250,000 people a week. There will be major prizes awarded for each category and an overall winner will take home the grand prize of $1,000 cash, courtesy of Midland Gate Shopping Centre.
To apply please submit this application form and a scanned image or photograph of your artwork by 4pm, Friday 13 June. Please do not send your artwork to the City of Swan at this point.
