On 10 April 2014, A World at School, in collaboration with civil society organizations and the UN Special Envoy for Global Education, will host a daylong "Countdown to 2015 Summit."
On the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund - World Bank Spring Meetings, the summit will convene NGO executives, grassroots campaigners and youth activists alongside global policy leaders in a set of dynamic plenaries, executive leadership strategy tracks and campaign working sessions.
The action-driven summit will focus on the urgent education crisis and the development of a strong plan of action to the end of 2015 to get as many children into school and learning.
Objectives include:
· Align strategy for the UN Special Envoy’s "500-Day Countdown" Campaign for Global Education
· Launch of a new set of tools to hold leaders and governments accountable for the global education goals
· Coordinate messaging, tactics, and metrics around key barriers
Invitations for the executive-level track will be issued in the coming days.
The working session track is currently limited to two individuals per organization.
Please indicate your organization’s interest in attending the summit by February 28th.
The event will be held at New York University’s Global Academic Center in Washington, D.C. The Center is located at 1307 L Street, NW, just blocks away from the World Bank Complex.
The opening sessions kick off at 8:00 am.
