Nominations will be reviewed by the WACO Board of Trustees during a Special meeting called for Friday, February 28, 2014, and the Board is likely to appoint from nominations received to fulfill the remainder of this unexpired term. This term expires following the banquet at the 2015 WACO Conference.
About the WACO Board of Trustees
The WACO Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Washington Association of County Officials (WACO), consistent with the duties and responsibilities specified in the WACO By-Laws. The WACO Board of Trustees meets quarterly (March, July, October and December) in different areas of the state. Members of the WACO Board of Trustees serve without compensation, except for reimbursement of travel expenses to attend authorized meetings other than the WACO Annual Conference. Meetings of the WACO Board of Trustees are subject to the requirements of the Open Public Meetings Act (RCW 42.30).
Process for Filling Vacancies on the WACO Board of Trustees
Section 4.6 of the WACO By-Laws specify that vacancies in the WACO Board of Trustees shall be filled by the WACO Board of Trustees. Consistent with that provision, the WACO Board of Trustees, during a Special Meeting called for Friday, February 28, 2014, may appoint to fill the vacant Trustee-At-Large position.
