We applaud the passage by the Texas House and Senate of SB 360, banning the use of gas in the euthanizing of animals, and respectfully ask that you consider signing the bill into law as soon as possible. Our research has demonstrated that using gas as a form of euthanasia – widely acknowledged as inhumane to animals and more dangerous to shelter staff – is actually more expensive than more humane alternatives, taking a toll on lives and precious resources at the shelters valiantly trying to care for so many animals in need.
