SUITABILITY FOR TRAVEL
Transport requires boarding of small aircraft, canoes, 4-wheel-drive vehicles and other cramped conditions requiring crouching, maneuvering in tight spaces, keeping balance on unstable surfaces, and maintaining sure-footedness in a variety of unimproved environments. Guyana is a tropical rainforest with hot, humid conditions all year long that can quickly drain one's stamina. Trails and walkways can be wet, slippery, uneven, unimproved, muddy, sandy, irregular, covered with vines, rocks, or other hidden hazards. Lighting, handrails, and facility safety precautions may not meet the standards of the industrialized world. Accommodations for those with special physical needs must be arranged well in advance, and not all facilities or modes of transport are capable of meeting all special needs. If you require special assistance of any kind or are unsure of your ability to travel in these conditions, we require you to notify us immediately so that we can assign an appropriate escort or alter your itinerary to ensure your comfort and safety.
