Welcome to the online Deep Ellum Urban Garden (DUG) "Adopt-a-Plot Registration!
Please note that we are right at capacity for the fall growing season and currently have no more spaces available. We will be filling additional planters in the spring and have more spaces available then. Please go ahead and apply and we will keep you posted!
Background
DUG's Mission is to GROW (food, health, knowledge, beauty, community) by providing opportunities for people to grow food for themselves, increase their healthy activity, get to know their neighbors, learn from and teach each other, and create a productive and beautiful commons as part of the greater community.
About the Application Process
There are a limited number of plots and a lot of factors to balance in assigning those plots. Plots will be allocated based on a variety of factors including those set out here, at the sole discretion of the Deep Ellum Urban Gardens. Extra weight will be given to individuals and businesses with the strongest ties to the Deep Ellum and to residents of downtown and Farmers Market, and to those volunteers who made the Garden happen. Applicants who do not receive an initial plot will be
placed on a waitlist, whenever possible.
You are encouraged to download and read the
DUG Gardening Agreement
and
Rules
before applying. These set out the legal terms and garden rules that will apply should you receive a plot. For more information on the longterms plans for the garden, you can read the DUG
Business Plan
.
For purposes of this application, DEEP ELLUM is defined to mean the area bounded between I-30 and the DART tracks from Central Expressway to Fair Park, plus the neighborhood known as Exposition Park.
Plot pricing is set at $75 per year per 4'x4' plot. There is also a one-time $10 processing fee applied to those who receive a plot. Cash, check or credit card accepted for payment.
