Welcome to Survey Earth in a Day 8! Everything Ever Built Depended On You. Together we can inspire a new generation of Professional Land Surveyors. Log Your Point!

But First, A Disclaimer:
In efforts to be as increasingly transparent as possible about this experiment, here are a few things that we would like for you to know. Together, as a global community, we are locating two things simultaneously- the marker or monument you are occupying and you, the land surveyor, community member and contributor. This submittal form will know approximately where you are submitting from, which may be an entirely different location than where you collected the data. For example, you may have collected static RTK data at a NGS benchmark in the forest, waiting to get back to the office before uploading it to submit. As a global community, we hope to learn more about the spatial relationship shared between members as well as the georelational data in respect to markers and known points. Put simply, one Point is uploaded by you below within the form and one point is being recorded about your approximate location when submitting this form. Only your approximate location is recorded by this form- kinda like the public using their cellphone to find a section corner-12 meters off. Your more precise data collected from your surveying instrument will be uploaded below.
If you participated in previous years, please try to set up on the same ground point if at all possible. Remember, we are looking for subtle changes or movements on the surface of the earth, which cannot be measured from space. We can see the changes when overlaying one year on top of the previous and so on. What makes this truly unique is the layers tell stories, display patterns and expose challenges. You are helping strengthen the industry by contributing and representing the land surveying industry for ALL the surveyors in your part of the world.
If you are near a body of water, coastal wetlands which is experiencing wetlands erosion or rising tides, please consider submitting your point from a marker that, by your judgement, will be accessible for future Survey Earth in a Day celebrations. Setting up on same point multiple years will make our map more amazing.
Please fill out the entire form. It should take you less than 7 minutes after you have collected the static location data about your point.
No cellphone GPS data will be accepted- however, cellphone photos and video are acceptedand should be posted inside the Hub for SEIAD.
If you have not yet read the instructions, open this page in a new tab.
Only Survey Grade GPS Data Will Be Accepted
If you have any trouble with this form, please send all of the following data to surveyearthinaday@gmail.com Thank you
